About the Event

LIMITED TO 7 PEOPLE - ONE TOUR A DAY

The Sydney Fish Market Behind the Scenes Tour allows you to explore the aspects of the site that regular customers don’t see, including: the history of Sydney Fish Market, the Dutch auction and buying system, touring the auction floor (viewing over 100 species), witnessing oyster shucking, touring our specialist seafood retailers to view sashimi, live product and more. The cost for the tour will be $50.00 which includes parking.

The Sydney Fish Market is located at the corner of Pyrmont Bridge Rd &, Bank St, Pyrmont. There are a couple of transport options:

  •  If you choose to drive, the carpark entry is via Bank street. Parking at Sydney Fish Market is included in the costing for Behind the Scenes Tour. So please bring your parking ticket with you to be validated.
  • If you chose to catch public transport the train leaves Oatley station at at 5.28am and arrive at Central at 5.59am. 
  • You can catch the L1 Light Rail from Central Station (Central Grand Concourse, Eddy Av. Haymarket) to the Fish Market. The trip is approximately 15minutes and the light rail runs every 10minutes. The Fish Market Station is located across the road from the market on the corner of Bank and Miller Street. Transport will cost $2.50 for the day using a Seniors/Pensioners Opal card.

The tour meeting point is at the wooden tables inside the main arcade, just next to Christie's Seafoods. The tour begins at 6.40am sharp and will end around 8:30am, so you can catch all the early morning action. Join us afterwards for breakfast at the ‘Fish Market Café’ or the ‘Social Brew Cafe”
